This role is to manage a team of Betting Operators and Team Leaders at several racecourses on race days. This role will report to the Head of Operations South.

• Working alongside the Head of Operations South you will plan the operational delivery of each race day meeting
• Be responsible for the overall delivery of the race day experience by ensuring we have staffing numbers to budget and we deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Motivating, coaching and ensuring our people are working to optimal levels and in line with our values including wearing the correct uniform
• To help and support our Head of Operations South on each respective racecourse to drive, optimize and improve on course sales performance and to monitor and report on agreed service level agreements (SLA’s) and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
• Working closely with the Head of Operations South to ensure our people have all they need to improve financial performance, drive employee engagement and training and development
• Liaising with the relevant management to ensure you have the right amounts of equipment in the right locations and consumables to run each race day meeting
• Working closely with Recruitment to ensure new starters are developed and trained to provide an exceptional service and to meet compliance requirements
• Monitoring ‘Tableau’ to analyse performance on course and make any necessary changes to the location of operators and positions.
• Adhering to specific racecourse requirements
• Cash management – receiving, storing, sorting, signing off cash
• Highest point of escalation on the racecourse on the day to deal with any customer issues
• Setting up race meetings in the back office prior to the race meeting as required.
• Delivering a team briefing at the beginning of each race fixture; this will include team incentive targets, expected crowds etc
• Walk the course ensuring all work areas are clean, tidy and ready to operate in
• Providing regular team updates throughout the day on team performance
• Having close liaison with the Gambling Commission to ensure all racecourses adhere to all required standards
• Assessing how each race day went and providing insights into the top sellers and best performers in the team that day, what went well, and lessons learnt.
• General admin duties as required
• General operational support to the operations and technical team
• Such other duties as the Company may, at times, reasonably require.

• You will have excellent admin skills including a high attention to detail
• Any previous experience of managing a racecourse would be advantageous
• You will have experience of managing and developing people
• Experience of working with large or multi-site venues and cash handling
• You will be a motivated self-starter who is positive, enthusiastic and pragmatic
• You will be a shining example of how to deliver excellent customer service
• You will have the ability to work well under pressure
• You will have the confidence to explain bet types to customer
• You will have bags of enthusiasm!
