The detailed rules and takeout rates for these bets will be as per each US racetrack, which can be found on the website of each US track. Takeout examples for selected tracks are provided below, but are subject to change.

Place bets refer to the ‘3 to be placed ‘pool, typically known as the ‘Show’ pool in the US. This applies to all Place bets on US Racing, including the Place part of an Each Way bet.
Horses may be coupled for betting purposes and are treated as a single betting entry in all pools. Should any horse in a coupled entry become a non-runner, the remaining horse(s) in that coupled entry shall remain valid betting interests. If all horses within a coupled entry become non-runners, then bets on such betting interests shall be refunded.
